Our craft
Two months, one woman, a thousand stitches
Charka takes its name from the spinning wheel, and that is still the idea: cloth made slowly, by people we know, in the district it comes from. Our muslin is woven on pit looms in Jashore, our silk is dyed by hand, and every nakshi motif is drawn freehand before a single stitch is made.
A full nakshi kantha takes one woman two to three months of steady work. We pay by the piece and by the hour, and she signs the corner before it leaves us. Nothing here is finished by machine and sold as handwork.

From Jashore to Rangpur
“So light”
Big jhumkas that do not drag on your ears — I wore them for nine hours straight. The oxidised finish is gorgeous against silk.
Oxidised Brass Jhumka
“Lovely on a plain wall”
Hook was already fitted so it went straight up. The carving has that soft hand-cut quality you cannot fake.
Terracotta Wall Plate
“Softens beautifully”
Slightly stiff on arrival and now, after four washes, it is lovely. The border embroidery has held perfectly.
Naksi Bed Cover
“The real thing”
I have seen machine-made 'kantha' sold in Dhaka for similar money. This is the genuine hand-stitched article and the difference is night and day.
Naksi Kodom Katha White
“An heirloom, honestly”
Two to three months of one woman's work, and it shows. We keep ours on the guest bed and everyone asks about it.
Naksi Kodom Katha White
“It twirls properly”
Full skirt, proper lining, and the marigold is beautiful in sunlight. She refuses to take it off.

Delivery, payment & repairs
How long does delivery take?+
Orders placed before 4pm are dispatched the same day. Inside Jashore and Dhaka city you will usually receive your bag within 24–48 hours. Outside those cities, expect 2–4 working days through our courier partners.
Can I pay cash on delivery?+
Yes. Cash on delivery is available in all 64 districts with no advance payment. For orders above ৳15,000 outside Dhaka we ask for a ৳500 advance via bKash or Nagad to confirm.
Is the fabric really handloom?+
Yes. Our muslin and cotton are woven on pit looms in and around Jashore, and every nakshi piece is embroidered by hand. Handloom cloth has small irregularities — that is how you know it is real.
What sizes do panjabis come in?+
Most panjabis run 40 to 46, and kids' sizes run by age. Sarees are one size. Add your size in the order notes at checkout, or call us on 01730-035960 and we will help you choose.
Do you gift wrap?+
Every order arrives in a cotton dust bag inside a kraft box tied with jute ribbon. Add a handwritten card at checkout in the order notes and we will include it, free.
