The story+
The Jashore stitch is a fine running stitch worked in parallel rows across the muslin — simple to describe, very hard to do evenly. It gives the cloth a subtle ripple and a little extra body, so the saree drapes with more shape than plain muslin. Made by the same group of women who have stitched for us since our first season.

Care & repair+
Wipe with a dry cotton cloth after a humid day and condition leather twice a year — we include a tin of our beeswax balm with every leather piece. Keep jute out of prolonged damp and air it in the shade, never in direct Dhaka sun. Any seam that opens, we restitch free of charge, forever.
