The story+
Balaka silk takes embroidery better than almost any cloth we work with — the thread sits proud of the surface instead of sinking in. Here the nakshi runs across the whole body rather than just the pallu, which roughly doubles the work but gives the saree its depth. The pink is soft and slightly dusty, not sugary.

Care & repair+
Wipe with a dry cotton cloth after a humid day and condition leather twice a year — we include a tin of our beeswax balm with every leather piece. Keep jute out of prolonged damp and air it in the shade, never in direct Dhaka sun. Any seam that opens, we restitch free of charge, forever.
